3) Technical Analysis
Opening a stock chart for the first time feels like staring at a treasure map you can't read. Lines, colors, numbers everywhere. Relax — after this guide, you'll read charts like a pro.
A stock chart is a graph displaying stock price movement over time. Charts come in several forms: line chart (simple line), bar chart, and candlestick chart (most popular among traders).
Reading a stock chart is like reading the weather. The horizontal axis (left-right) is time — like a calendar. The vertical axis (up-down) is price — like a thermometer. Candlesticks are the daily weather — sometimes sunny (green), sometimes cloudy (red). Technical indicators? Those are weather forecasts that help you predict whether tomorrow will be sunny or rainy.
Try opening BBCA's chart on your trading app (Stockbit, IPOT, or others). Set the timeframe to Daily. You'll see each candlestick represents 1 day. Draw horizontal lines at prices where the stock often bounces (that's support/resistance). Enable the 50 MA and 200 MA. Now you can visually see BBCA's trend — whether it's in an uptrend, downtrend, or sideways.
